IBEW Local 236 provides electrical contractors throughout the Capital Region with highly-skilled, residential, commercial, industrial electricians; state registered apprentices and tele-data technicians.  We also provide continuous industry upgrade training for current electricians.  With it's numerous classifications of electrical workers, Local 236 can help electrical contractors maintain competitive crew costs and increased profitability.

Cost Savings

  • Benefits Administration - Local 236's Funds Office will administer all of your electricians' benefits at no cost to you.
  • Labor Savings - Becoming an IBEW signatory contractor, you have the ability to lower your overall labor costs by hiring New York State registered apprentices through the Tri-City Joint Apprenticeship Training Center.  The Tri-City JATC is a New York State certified apprenticeship program that is responsible for training IBEW Local 236's highly skilled electricians.  
  • Free industry training for your existing electricians.
  • Ability to increase or decrease electricians as needed - no more carrying skilled electricians waiting for the next project to begin.
  • Ability to properly staff all of your projects - no more turning work away because you cannot find skilled electricians.
